I got bored with regular Overwatch and decided to finally download the PTR. I wanted to get a feel for the newest (and still unreleased) character, Wrecking Ball. Now, I’ve still only played a single match. It was hilarious and fun, and brings a new mobility to the tank class. I like him, but I’ll have to relearn how to play the tank class with this guy. Movement takes some getting used to and he’s a little squishy, but he can roll away from most encounters. This is the POTG from the first match.
Small disclaimer, I was messing around in a custom match. This is a against bots, so take this with a grain of salt.
Yeah, I like him.
With the recent announcement that Bioware is officially dropping all support for their game, I decided to start modding the game files for my own fun.
As such, I’ll be able to do a number of things, like changing weapon damage values, power combo values, and even swap active and passive abilities.
The first mod I’m releasing this weekend (most likely Thursday/Friday night) will simply remove the scope zoom and replace the sniper reticule with the assault rifle reticule on all sniper rifles currently in the game.
I’ll post the release here, on Reddit, and on a few other places. If you have a request for an adjustment or a new mod, let me know! I’ll see what I can do!
At this point of the month, you’re probably getting ready for the release of Mass Effect: Andromeda early next week. While I recommend caution and patience when waiting for new games to release, versus pre-ordering and then being disappointed, I actually went against my own advice for this particular game. The primary reason being, it’s fucking Mass Effect. I mean, I’ve been a huge fan of the game since I first played Mass Effect 2 and then had to go back and play the original Mass Effect game to get the full story. I was addicted, and replayed the game up until Mass Effect 3 released. Played the multiplayer, became more addicted, and I’ve been (not really) patiently waiting for a new installment.
With EA backing this game, and a few other factors (like missing customization options that were present in previous games) to consider, I still decided to pre-order. I mean, why not? I’ll still enjoy the game, and the multiplayer is surely good enough to keep me (and my small group of ME friends) busy for months on end. I don’t mind some missing customization (it’s nitpicking.) I don’t mind EA either, so long as they keep the stupid microtransactions where they belong, and don’t spam me with ads every day. (I’m looking at you, 2k Sports.) So, if you wanna find me in-game when the game launches/shortly after, add me on Origin. That’s right, I bought this on PC. Origin name is NeXusN9ne, send me a friend request and let me know where you found me from.
So, while we wait for the approaching deadline, I’ll just leave a few trailers for you to drool over.
Mass Effect: Andromeda releases March 21st, Origin users can begin early downloads this Friday, March 17th.
